Who Needs Pet Insurance?
Sunday, June 1st, 2008Despite the untold millions of pet owners in the U.S., a huge percentage of them do not have any form of pet insurance; would we treat our other loved one’s the same way? Every American knows how important it is to organize health insurance; if we really cared out our pet’s health we would not neglect them would we?
Considered by many as an unnecessary expense; that is until those pet owners face expensive vet bills when they are sick. Many people forget just how much the cost of taking an animal to the vets for treatment has risen in recent times; for those people with pet insurance, they have witnessed this rise in the form of premium increases.
The rising cost of protection is one point to consider but are there any others? The fact is, the more animals you own, there is an increased risk that one of them will be involved in an accident or become sick; usually when you least expect it something will happen to one of your animals.
There may come a time when you have to consider the cost of medical treatment; you know that treating your animal will place financial strain on you.
I remember a few years ago when the vet told me that it would cost at least 1,000 dollars to save my dog; I have to admit to asking myself at the time if we could justify the expense. To make matters worse, there is always a chance you pet still won’t survive; however, you will still have to pay for the cost of treatment.
If you have a pet, then the cost of maintaining their health is a serious matter; these additional costs can place a person in debt. You may have other pressing financial commitments to attend too so raising further capital can sometimes be a problem.
Financial difficulties are the number one reason why pets do not receive proper attention; a pet insurance plan will mean this type of situation does not occur again. Vet bills could escalate but pet healthcare insurance policies are still the best option; the average monthly premium will be less than forty dollars.
Various pet healthcare insurance options are available; discounts are often available should you decide to place all household pets all on one policy to reduce the monthly cost. A loving pet owner should really be thinking about the level of healthcare in place for their pet; do not leave it until it is too late!
